Yes, I have voices in my head. What ? Don’t you?

So.
I have been called escapist in private for the last 2 months, and now I have been duly certified by my favorite shrink. What can I say.

Let me introduce you to the voices in my head.
There’s the wry one, let’s call him Rye. He’s the one with the smirk and a smart answer to everything. He is the one who seems to keep me sane and smiling, and is also the one whose voice makes me want to bite my tongue the most to keep the thought in rather than out.
There’s the level headed one, let’s call him …. Mr Right. Because he is .. always right. Charts the safest course, the one that keeps me the obedient daughter, dutiful student, good, smiling, caring, patient doctor, the nice person.
Then of course there is the third : and let’s call her Anne. Yup. She’s the romantic one. The one who cries over soppy romantic movies and loves to cuddle. The one who still believes in Prince Charming/Knight on a white steed/Roses, candle light and a good steak.

Ah. To come back to the point.
For the past 2 months I have been living in books. Living in their pages, rather than in the real world.
Reading, to be specific, Harry Potter Fan Fiction.
Why HP FF?
Because in my experience trawling the net for stuff to read that loads fast, is free and keeps me entertained, this takes the cake. In terms of sheer volume there is nothing to beat porn. Do a google search for something as innocuous as ‘free stories’ and three of the first five websites you get are porn. Erm, don’t know about you, but I prefer Harry Potter.
So here I am : trying to live in the ‘real world’.
First step would be to start doing something that I can’t do on autopilot. Write. Study. Can’t think of anything else.
So, starting tomorrow, or maybe today, I will post reviews of my favorites among the plethora of Harry Potter Fan Fic that there is.
